What is Cryoablation?
Similar to RFA, cryoablation also involves placing a needle into a tumor using image guidance, however, instead of using heat, cryoablation uses cold. The extremely cold temperatures generated at the needle tip, freeze the tumor resulting in cell death within the tumor. Cryoablation can be used to treat the same type of cancers as RFA.
