Radiofrequency ablation can be used to treat renal cell carcinoma,
which is the most common form of kidney cancer. Radiofrequency ablation
of the kidney is generally reserved for patients who have only one
functional kidney or are not surgical candidates. In addition, radiofrequency
ablation can be used to treat cancer from the kidney that may have
spread to other organs such as the lungs or liver.
